Kenneth Tse | Biography
Kenneth Tse was born in Hong Kong and grew up in the territory. He studied architecture at the University of Hong Kong, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies in 1994 and Master of Architecture in 1997. He has been qualified as a Registered Architect since 1999. After winning the First Prize in an architectural design competition for the Centre for Youth Development in 2000, he co-founded Meta4 Design Forum Ltd. Since then, he has concentrated on exploring cross-disciplinary projects in community, culture, visual arts, historical heritage and curatorial works. He has worked on a number of small but socio-culturally significant projects. He highly values continuous education, reflected by his completion of a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Sociology from the City University of Hong Kong in 2007, and also a Master of Science in Sustainable Heritage with Distinction from the University College London (UK) in 2021.

2000 – First Prize in an open architectural design competition for the Centre for Youth Development (later renamed as Youth Square), a youth activities complex in Hong Kong
2008 – Hong Kong Institute of Architects Special Architectural Award in Interior Design for the Exhibition “MegARTstore” in Hong Kong Heritage Museum
2009 – Hong Kong Institute of Architects Medal Award for the design of the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC)
2017 – The International Union of Architects (UIA) Friendly & Inclusive Spaces Award – Honourable Mention for the design of Viva Blue House
2017 – UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation Award of Excellence for the Revitalization of the Blue House Cluster
2018 – Hong Kong Institute of Architects Medal Award for the design of Viva Blue House
2018 – Hong Kong Institute of Architects Special Architectural Award in Heritage & Adaptive Reuse for the design of Viva Blue House
